Well, a lot of things:

He is Canadian!....
(and a goofy one at that)

He is a Brother.....(and a young scrawny one here )

A life long athlete....
(finishing the St.George Marathon about 4 or 5 years ago)

A Musician....
(a mean guitar player and singer with a "Smooth-a-butta" voice)

Sometimes I feel like I live in the future...

...I guess I do. This is one of those things that reminds me I live in a very cool time. Where innovation can be found everywhere. Eric Whitacre, composer/conductor, has created a virtual choir. He videotaped himself conducting, then asked singers to record themselves singing their parts and send it on to him. Then, he merged their voices and videos electronically. The end result is this amazing recording- 185 singers and it sounds amazing. Incidentally, I sang many of Eric Whitacre's songs in High School, and especially love this one. Enjoy!~

Garage Saleing!

Got this beauty at a garage sale! Brand spankin' new, and I think its so cute. It was marked at $25, but talked them down to $15, and so glad I did. I have been needing new luggage, most of all a wheeling carry on. So Yay! Hoping to go again next week!

Flowers, Fondue, Fun, Friends, Family, and Fotos!

The last week in May I went to California again...for a "work conference." I had a 2 day conference at the Anaheim Convention Center, but took about 10 days to hang out with my friends and family since my work was paying for the flight. (last year was the interpreter cruise, this year was a little more low key.) I did get to stay a couple nights in the Marriott adjacent to the convention center, and had a friend drive down for the conference too so she got to take advantage of the free hotel too. It the conference was ok, but the first day was a little disapointing, since I expected more from the National Interpreter Conference. The second day redeemed itself though, and we decided we liked the Deaf presenters a whole lot better than the others. Our favorite was a 4 hour Mime workshop. So fun! Least favorite was the "Interpreting for the LGBTQI community" workshop. Not so much because of the content, because I learned a few good things, but it was just super boring, and after 4 hours I wanted to hang myself.

Before the conference my Mom and I went to the Carlsbad Flower Festival, which was random but really quite fun! It was a perfect day and it was beautiful. We got some good (and silly) shots too.

Also hung out with my girl Emily, we had a fun homemade fondue lunch! It was quite fun, and super delicious!

Then randomly a few days later, after the conference my friend Rebecca (aka Frank) and I went to The Melting Pot, also fondue! We had a $20 off certificate, but it was still crazy expensive. Worth it though~ yummmers~!

This quote says what I feel today, I could have written it myself if I were so articulate. Mom, I love you SO much and never feel like I say it enough, and can never repay you for all you have done for me. You are my best friend, and everything good I have in me is because of your love, encouragement, teachings, sacrifices, funloving attitude, and strength. You are the strongest woman I know, and I admire you so much. Thank you for all you have done, including all the things I will never realized you have done and sacrificed for me.
