Nature

This month I have been doing an on-line class from Nicole's Classes, because I won that free class when I went to their Art weekend in SLC in Oct-ish.  I love Nicole's blog, and her photography style.  She is an amazing photographer, a very clean and classic shooter, none of the fancy shmancy tricks and gimmics people do with photoshop, and even HDR.  She teaches very well too, and I love learning from her.  Anyway, here are a few of the pictures I shot for her on-line class which unfortunately ends this week.

(all pics are taken across the street from where I live at the pond/park, except the last one which is down by where I work in Coolidge.)

Awake My Soul

I don't know why, but I am really liking this song today.  Something about the lyrics too.

How fickle my heart and how woozy my eyes
I struggle to find any truth in your lies
And now my heart stumbles on things I don't know
My weakness I feel I must finally show

Lend me your hand and we'll conquer them all
But lend me your heart and I'll just let you fall
Lend me your eyes I can change what you see
But your soul you must keep, totally free
Har har, har har, har har, har har

In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die
Where you invest your love, you invest your life
In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die
Where you invest your love, you invest your life

Awake my soul, awake my soul
Awake my soul
You were made to meet your maker

Awake my soul, awake my soul
Awake my soul
You were made to meet your maker

P-Town

Phoenix, that is. Downtown Phoenix.  On Sunday morning before the crack of dawn I met up with a photography group who specialize in HDR photography.  We met before dawn so we could take photos of a waking and soggy Phoenix at sunrise. It had been raining all week end which is the best time to take pictures if you ask me.  I had so much fun, and being my first time doing HDR, I learned a lot.

{If you care, HDR means High Dynamic range, and is achieved by taking 3 pictures of the same composition with a tripod.  One @ normal exposure,  one @ 2 stops over exposed, and one @ 2 stops underexposed.  Then you blend them together for a very dynamic picture!  Some can get over the top, kind of like the church picture (2nd to last) but I tried not to get too crazy on the others.}

I forgot what the world looked like at 5:30am, it was delightful!
I can't wait to go back!

Mmmm Cheeeese

This is me milking "famous by association"  for all its worth.
So Doritos has a "Crash the Superbowl" contest where thousands of people enter commercials for a chance to be shown during the superbowl.  Some of my friends did it, and got to the top 5!!  So everyone has been voting from the top 5, for the best ones, and 3 make it to actually being shown during the Superbowl.  So in your watching, don't do the DVR skip though, watch for my friend standing in his boxers during the superbowl!

Here is the commercial, watch for it!  (And here is a little shout out from the CW30 about them.)
